New life in Bavaria for England’s captain and his pregnant wife: Harry Kane looks set for fresh start in Munich in £95m move that will see him pocket a £400k a week – with his childhood sweetheart Katie ‘already scouring villas in exclusive enclave’
With Tottenham accepting an estimated £100million offer from Bayern Munich for Harry Kane, the England striker and his family may be preparing for a new life in the Bavarian capital.
While the 30-year-old is yet to finalise the deal, his pregnant wife Katie Goodland has already been spotted scouting out local schools in the city for their three children, Ivy, Vivienne Jane and Louis – according to local media reports.
Meanwhile, Bayern are said to be so confident of signing Kane that they have reportedly already secured a luxury villa for him in Grunwald, a millionaire’s enclave of Grunwald to the south of the city. He’s set to earn an estimated £400,000 a week.
Relocating to Munich will require Kane and his family to adapt to a new city with a different language and culture, but they’ll be plenty of delights for them to enjoy.
Germany’s third largest city is perhaps best known for Oktoberfest, a 16-day bacchanal of beer, bangers and brass bands.

The secluded town, dubbed the ‘Bavarian Hollywood’ is ranked as Germany’s wealthiest municipality and if Kane does accept Bayern’s offer of the luxury village, the family will be settling in with the club’s current winger, Leroy Sane, and its former chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
Despite its name the festival actually begins in September, and now attracts six million visitors to the city.

Attendees will no doubt enjoy some of the city’s local delicacies, which include gerschwollene (fried veal sausage), schweinsbraten (pork roast) and potato dumplings (knodeln).
These hearty options might be out of reach for a world-class athlete like Kane, but if he does choose to indulge in them he can burn off the calories with a stroll in the Englischer Garten (English Garden), a 922-acre green oasis with 48 miles of cycling and jogging trails.
If he’s feeling daring he could even try a spot of surfing on an artificial wave on the Eisbach River, although it’s likely his new bosses would object.
Munich has previously been named by a magazine as the world’s most liveable city, and its attractions are quickly apparent to any visitor.
Located in southern Germany, Munich was, until 1918, the capital of the Kingdom of Bavaria – and the regal spirit still survives, with sweeping boulevards lined by stately buildings.

Perhaps its most stunning site is the Residence, the largest palace in Germany and former home to the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria.
There is a darker side to Munich’s history, of course.
This is the city where Adolf Hitler rose to power, with the Nazis naming it as the official ‘capital’ of their movement.
It also holds tragic memories for Manchester United fans as the site of the Munich air disaster of 1958, which wiped out some of the brightest stars of the generation known as the ‘Busby Babes’.
But today’s Munich is a city that faces the future, with a vibrant contemporary scene including edgy art museums, a burgeoning vegetarian food scene and uber-hip cocktail bars.
It also remains a major economic hub and home to giant companies including BMW and the insurers Allianz and Munich Re.

Bayern are also said to have reserved Kane a seat in the dressing room, while they have held talks with his representatives about what squad number he would wear if he joined.
For Kane, a key attraction of joining the club would be the prospect of silverware, with the club winning an astonishing 11 Bundesliga titles in a row.
They’re also considered contenders to win the Champions League.
On Friday, Bayern submitted their final bid for Kane, worth £86million.
However, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who wants a fee of £100million, has flown to the USA and ignored Bayern’s deadline for a response to their offer.
So it remains to be seen whether Kane will be calling Munich his home any time soon.
