Prince Harry has been summoned to appear in court under oath by his wife Meghan Markle's sister Samantha in her defamation case against her.
Samantha Markle, 57, is suing Meghan, 41, for damages over her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey and comments in Finding Freedom, a book penned by Meghan's pal Omid Scobie.
Samantha alleges she was defamed by Meghan when the Duchess told Oprah she was raised as an "only child". This, Samantha claims, humiliated her and caused her distress.

She also accused her half-sister of peddling a "rags to riches" story.
Meghan's team dismissed Samantha's claims and have tried to get the case thrown out.
They say the "only child" comment was a "subjective feeling" and "obviously not meant to be a statement of objective fact".
Meghan's team also argue that she cannot be held liable for comments made in Finding Freedom as she is not the author or publisher.
The trial was set to take place on October 2, but that has since been pushed back to January, 2024 – with Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell demanding that it will not last more than five days.
And during those five days, it now seems as if Prince Harry will have to appear.
According to The Mirror, legal papers show that Samantha Markle has formally asked him to take part in deposition proceedings under oath on video.

She also wants her sister to be interviewed on camera the day before Harry is questioned.
Legal papers filed in Florida on Friday reveal Samantha is demanding Meghan answer 23 questions as part of a ‘discovery’ period – the provision of evidence intended to be used in a trial.
The pair’s lawyers were said to have spoken about the case over the phone on Friday but could not agree on a date for the depositions.
In the documents, Samantha’s lawyer Taylor E. Young accused Meghan – who wants the case dismissed – of withholding evidence and stonewalling discovery.
But Meghan’s lawyer Michael J. Kump says the demands are irrelevant to the issues in the defamation case.
British-born lawyer Mary Ruth Houston, 61, has been hired as a mediator in a bid to find a solution between the pair and avoid a trial.
