Anglesey dolphins frolic by boat and refuse to leave
We all know we’re supposed to be scared of sharks, that fear cemented ever since Steven Spielberg’s 1975 flick Jaws hit screens.
The group of fish characterised by their sinister fin and razor-sharp teeth are found all around the world.
Australia and the USA have the most shark-infested waters, and people who have been to either country will likely have been warned when swimming in the sea.
Yet, there are other equally as terrifying yet seemingly docile creatures that some experts have warned about.
Scuba Dan, an open water scuba and speciality infrastructure based in Florida, US, has had his fair share of meetings with both sharks and dolphins and says the latter are extremely “evil”.

In some videos, posted to his social media channels, he follows regularly encounters a dolphin that has become a character is his footage, aptly named the ‘Joker’.
“It is the most evil dolphin of all,” he says. “Joker the Dolphin really does creep me out. He is part of the Socorro dolphin clan, notorious for their weird behaviour and mimicking divers, even sometimes luring you to go deeper.
“I named them evil and man does the Joker know it!”
Marine biologists have long talked about the cunning and sometimes evil nature of dolphins when compared to sharks, largely down to their extremely large brains and intelligence.
Miriam Goldstein, a marine biologist writing for Slate in 2009, noted that dolphins “are not gentle or psychic”.

She continued: “If they could talk they would not impart eco-wisdom or deep spiritual truth. Dolphins are violent predators with a predilection for baby killing and rape. I feel it’s my duty to warn you, despite the risk of insulting creatures made of hundreds of pounds of muscle and rows of sharp teeth.”
She went on to list some of the “evil” things dolphins do, like kill harbour porpoise babies, evidence of which was found in Scotland, not to mention the fact that they “kill their own babies”.
Their sex can be “violent and coercive”, with gangs of male dolphins known to pursue and intimidate female dolphins for weeks at a time.
“The scariest part is dolphins can wreak havoc day and night without sleeping. A recent study found that dolphins could stay awake for five days straight with no loss of mental acuity,” she added.
Scuba Dan has 14 such videos of himself tracking Joker and his “evil” ways.
Social media users regularly share their own experiences in the comment section, with one writing: “I used to be scared of orcas, now I’m scared of dolphins and would rather swim with orcas!”
But his encounters aren’t all sinister, for he also swims with orcas and other breeds of whales, which he says are forever playful and curious about the humans joining them.
