A SHOCKED mum was 'flabbergasted' when she went to wrap the laptop she had ordered for her daughter but found something else inside.
Lizzie Pattison bought what she thought was a laptop in October – but discovered the box was filled with cereal instead.
The horrified mum from Lichfield, Staffordshire, immediately contacted Amazon for a refund but was refused as the 30-day window had expired.
The gift had been intended to help her daughter, Daisy, with SAT exams next year.
Outraged at her treatment, Lizzie told the BBC: "My main worry is that there is going to be a number of children on Christmas morning that are going to open what their parents think is a tablet or a laptop because they have not opened the box."
Amazon eventually offered Lizzie and her 10-year-old daughter a refund after the BBC investigated their case.

However, after contacting Amazon, Yoshihito said the company responded by immediately freezing his account, rather than reimbursing his lost savings.
Now, he is afraid he will need to keep forking out for the fraudulent package, as he can't cancel the direct debit while his account is frozen.
An Amazon spokesman said: "We have been made aware and have launched an urgent investigation."
