I spent THOUSANDS to stage festival in my garden… it was really noisy but I’m convinced my neighbours loved it | The Sun

A MUSIC nut who stages a 24-hour festival in his garden insists his neighbours love it – despite it causing an absolute racket.

Jack Hodgson hosts hundreds of people every year at RUSH Festival on the 2.5 acre lawn of his parents' County Durham home.

Complete with a castle stage, UFO room, pizza parlour, shop, campsite, and toilet facilities – the event sets Jack and his pals back £6,000.

The 24-year-old, from Darlington, said: "It's a one-day festival that lasts until the night, where everyone camps in the field and then cleans up and leaves the following morning.

"It starts at 4pm and finishes at 1am the next morning.

"We had zero complaints from any of our neighbours – we're good friends with them and we even invited some of them round to see the place and enjoy the party."

Content creator Jack got the idea after getting fed up of being cooped up over Covid.

And after getting permission from mum Rosie and dad Stewart, Jack set about putting his dream into reality.

With the stage located at the bottom of the garden, tents and cars park up on the rest of the lawn.

And he's converted stables into three distinct rooms: UFO, jungle and beach cave.

Incredibly, 200 people attended the 2023 event, grooving along to eight different acts.

But despite promoting the festival on social media, Jack admits most festival-goers are friends of friends.

Reflecting on his creation, he said: "These huge events like Woodstock, Glastonbury, and other great festivals are made from a group of friends putting their idea into practise.

"This is exactly what we are doing and the heights we are wanting to achieve."
