Tehran’s commitment to European countries to prevent an increase in its stockpile of enriched uranium will end on Thursday. Spokesman for the organisation, Behrouz Kamalvandi, said: “The deadline of the Atomic Energy Organization for passing the production of enriched uranium from the 300 kilogram border will end tomorrow. “With the end of this deadline, the speed of enrichment will speed up.”
The announcement comes after Donald Trump threatened to “obliterate” the Islamic Republic if it attacked “anything American” as relations between the two countries reached a new low, raising fears of a war.
