A MAN sobbed as he appeared in court today charged with murdering a mum who vanished from home over a week ago.
Madison Wright, 30, was last seen at 8.30am on July 22 in Basildon, Essex.
Police searching for the mum yesterday confirmed a body had been found at a country park.
Madison's family have been informed of the development but officers have not confirmed if the body belongs to her.
Garry Bennett, 36, appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court today charged with murder.
He is accused of killing Madison between July 22 and July 25.

Bennett spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the brief hearing.
He wept as he was remanded in custody to next appear at Basildon Crown Court on Wednesday.
A desperate search was launched for Madison after she vanished last week.
The mum's car, a black Vauxhall Astra with the registration EU13 JVW, was discovered on Tuesday.

Police closed Wat Tyler Country Park on Saturday and the nearby Pitsea Recycling Centre as the investigation ramped up.
They later confirmed a body had been discovered.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Yesterday (Saturday 30 July), a body was discovered at Wat Tyler Country Park.
"The park and the nearby recycling centre remain shut whilst officers continue with enquiries.
"The formal identification process is yet to take place but Madison’s family have been informed of the development and continue to be supported by specialist detectives.
"We continue to urge anyone who has any information, but has not yet come forward to contact us.
