Man arrested after Woman found dead in Northcote garage

A man has been arrested after a woman’s body was discovered in the garage of an inner Melbourne home.

A family member found the 51-year-old woman dead at the Brickworks Lane property at Northcote shortly before 8pm yesterday.

Homicide squad detectives arrested the 52-year-old Northcote man this afternoon. He is in custody and will be questioned by police.

Officers believe the pair were known to each other.

It is understood the woman sustained significant facial injuries, according to Nine News.

A car was also towed from the scene on Thursday.
