Man dies after being pulled from lake in Leigh-on-Sea as woman rescued | The Sun

A MAN has died after being pulled from a lake – as emergency services rescue a woman.

The victim, who hasn't been named or aged, sadly passed away after being recovered from the water in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, on Thursday.

The Sun understands the man's wife was rescued along with their dog following reports of concerns for their safety.

It is not yet known how the couple got into difficulty as cops continue to carry out enquiries.

The woman was given medical attention waterside but did not require hospital treatment.

Essex Police were called to the scene around lunchtime.

The force said: "We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service at about 12.35pm on Thursday, October 26 following concerns for the welfare of a man and woman.

"A woman was brought from the water to safety and was left in the care of the ambulance service.

"Officers recovered a man from the water and sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics at the scene, he has died.

"His family are being supported by specialist officers."
