A GUNMAN has opened fire inside a packed nightclub in Marbella reportedly leaving a woman dead and four people injured.

The shooting took place early this morning after a gun and knife brawl broke out at the Opium club at the popular Costa del Sol holiday resort.

At least four people are said to have been taken to hospital with gunshot and stab wounds while a woman has died, El Confidencial reports.

The fight broke out around 1am this morning, with those involved using knives and guns.

Chilling footage shared online appears to show commotion inside the nightclub as shots are heard while panicked revellers are screaming as they frantically try to flee the nightclub.

It is believed police are still at the scene while the alleged gunman has been detained and taken to hospital in serious condition.

The man is believed to have suffered stab wounds in the head and the torso.

Officers from the National and Local police as well as emergency services rushed to the scene.
