Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have “distanced” themselves from their bombshell separation from the Royal Family so they can "hash out" a new deal, commentators have claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 12-month review of their separation from the Royal Family will take place this spring.
Having already signed blockbuster deals with Netflix and Spotify, it seems unlikely a royal return is on the cards.
But experts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie have suggested the couple have “distanced” themselves from their dramatic exit in the build-up to their review.
Speaking on their podcast Royally Obsessed, Ms Bowie said: "March is the end of the royals' fiscal year, I believe.
"We don't think there's any chance they even want to be senior working members of the Royal Family.
"But it is interesting that they have, in a way, distanced themselves from that.”
She went on to say the royal split was “such a rush announcement” and “pulled the rug out of everyone”.
“So I think this one-year review is more of a chance to kind of update and tweak things,” Rachel added.
"There won't be anything like them being told they need to come crawling back."
Roberta agreed: "I think it's much more of a chance to say they maybe should review the thoughts around Harry's military titles or their patronages or their involvement in ceremonies.
"That was a big thing within the last year – them not being allowed to be involved in Remembrance Day events.
"I think that will need some tweaking or they'll be able to hash out some sort of middle ground that they're all happy about."
Harry spent 10 years in the Army and has maintained close ties with servicemen and women since leaving in 2015
In their bombshell book Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed he was “demoralized” at being stripped of his military titles as a result of Megxit.
“That’s been a tough pill to swallow, and the one that has been most painful to Meghan witness him go through,” they wrote.
“It’s the one that made Harry emotional.”
