THIS is the moment a dog was tasered and shoved in a wheelie bin by police who were trying to protect children from the raging animal.
The dramatic footage shows the officers manhandling a large dog into a wheelie bin after it had been tasered.
The muscular dog was laying incapacitated on the pavement when it was put in the bin by police.
West Midlands Police officers were called to Milverton Road in Coventry on Tuesday to a report that dogs were fighting in the street.
The force said that when officers arrived at the scene they were forced to taser one dog because it was "out of control" and a threat to children.
The force said that reports on social media that the dog was hit by a police car and killed were not true.
A force spokesperson said:"We were called to Milverton Road, Coventry, where a group of dogs were fighting.
"When officers arrived, one of the dogs was clearly out of control, attacking the other dogs and presenting a risk to members of the public nearby, a number of whom were children.
"Because of this risk and because the dog was out of control, officers used a Taser to prevent it causing serious harm.
"Contrary to reports on social media, the dog was not hit by a police car and was not killed.
