Terrifying moment raging bull tramples and gores teenager and throws him around a street as the youngster tries to get away during Spanish bull run

This is the horrifying moment a raging bull gores a Spanish teen as he tries to flee from the animal during a bull run, tossing him into the air like a rag doll.

Gruesome footage from the event in Castalla, Alicante Province, shows the 19-year-old being flung around as the animal uses its horns to throw him helplessly into the air.

Fleeing with other young men through the narrow streets of Castalla, the boy initially slips on the road.

As he tries to get up, the bull catches him and instantly uses its horns to knock him up against a wall.

The bull repeatedly crushes the teen – who was not named in local media – against the terraced street walls before picking him up with its horns again and bouncing him up in the air several times.

Screaming spectators try to distract the enraged bull, but the animal continues to charge at him as the teen lays helplessly on the ground.

Locals look to help the man but they quickly flinch back as the bull looks towards them.

Again, the man is knocked back off the ground by the bull as he is flung from one side of the street to another. 

The runner only escapes when he is hurled towards a door and manages to stagger behind a security grille.

The terrifying footage was recorded at the five-day Fiestas de Vaca – or Cow Festivities – in honour of San Roque (Saint Roch) from August 12. Local media first reported the incident on August 16.

Reports said the teen was in stable condition when he was rushed to hospital, where he is being treated for four horn gashes and multiple bruises.

Local official Jose Rico commented: ‘It’s as if a train ran over him, but the wounds are minor and the boy is in better condition than expected.’

Spanish animal welfare party PACMA took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the event.

It wrote: ”Bous al carrer’ [bulls in the street] events not only cause stress for the bulls but also pose a danger to people.

‘This 19-year-old man has been hospitalised with four horn gashes in Castalla (Alicante) after being charged by a bull.

‘If these festivities cease to exist, we will spare ourselves from these tragedies.’
