UK outlook for Tuesday December 11 to Thursday December 13

THERE will be rain in the far west on Tuesday but it'll eventually turn patchy by the time it reaches central areas on Wednesday.

By Thursday, there'll be heavier rain, strong winds and possible snow on higher ground.

UK outlook for Friday December 14 to Monday January 7

FRIDAY is forecast to be wet with strong winds but it'll be colder and drier in eastern regions.

There's even a chance of a snow in areas where colder air meets wet conditions.

Over the following week, southern areas could become drier for sometime however temperatures are likely to be average for the time of year.

The festive period is going to be a fix of showers and longer periods of rain.

New Year could be a lot colder and drier with the chance of high pressure becoming established close to the UK.

However, wet and windy weather could dominate.
