Priciest four-bed house in the UK comes in at £15million! But it does have sensational views of a prime seaside spot in Dorset
- The 2910 sq ft house has three bathrooms and three bedrooms with sea views
- Outside is a swimming pool, woodland, boat store and slipway to Poole Harbour
- It will be the most expensive house sold in the ‘millionaires’ row’ of Sandbanks
Boasting stunning views and an idyllic location, it is billed by estate agents as probably the best plot for sale in Britain.
And if it sells for the asking price of £15million, this four-bedroom detached house will become the most expensive property to be sold in the ‘millionaires’ row’ of Sandbanks.
Other homes in the exclusive area of Dorset may be bigger, swankier or more luxurious, but experts say this one trumps them all – because of the size of its plot.
Hidden gem: The home is unseen from the road
‘It might not be regarded by some as the finest house in Sandbank, but it is certainly the finest plot,’ a property source said.
‘It has 1.5 acres of land which is substantial for the peninsular and very, very hard to come by. Most are 0.2 to 0.5 acres.
‘It’s a character property and a lovely house but it’s really the plot that is the draw for this one.’
Some online adverts for the sale describe it as ‘arguably one of the best plots in the United Kingdom’.
Wow factor: The property boasts a 1.5-acre plot – more than an acre larger than most Sandbanks homes – and sits on the corner of the peninsula
The property, called North Haven Point, is set in 1.43 acres, and is unseen from the road. It sits on a corner plot on the northwest point of the Sandbanks Peninsula, giving it a double aspect. It captures all day sun and has spectacular views across Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island.
The particulars from luxury estate agents Fine & Country, which is marketing the property along with Sandbanks-based Tailor Made, say the plot has been in the same family since the late 1800s, with the house originally built in the early 1900s, then extended in the 1950s and 1970s.
… but it does come with sensational views of prime seaside spot
‘The home has a nostalgic charm about it, and investment may be needed by the incoming buyer if they wish to modernise. Some may choose to lift the roof and extend while others might want to start afresh and rebuild.
‘What is very apparent, whoever lives here will be owning the ultimate plot, giving privacy, location a home for the next generation to enjoy.’
Three of the bedrooms have water views. The 2910 sq ft house also has three bathrooms, while outside there is a swimming pool, a pretty woodland area, a boat store and slipway into Poole Harbour.
The owners, who do not wish to be named, said the property has been in their family for four generations.

‘We’ve no idea what the house was bought for in 1890s – it was probably the same price a bicycle would cost these days,’ they said.
‘The house is unique in that it sits on the largest plot on Sandbanks and boasts a 270-degree panorama of the second largest harbour in the world.
‘We have no particular reason for selling now other than we’d like to start a new adventure before we’re too old. We’ll miss it – it’s very special.’
The record for the most expensive house sold in Sandbanks is currently the £10million paid for football manager Harry Redknapp’s former mansion – with six bedrooms, a wine cellar and indoor cinema – last year. Barry Bester, the Topps Tiles founder, had previously bought the mansion, called Harbour Gate, from the Redknapps for £6.9million in 2015.
