Putin’s top ally warns of ‘MONSTROUS’ nuclear war between the US & Russia – and he doesn't know who would win | The Sun

A CLOSE ally of Vladimir Putin has warned of a “monstrous” nuclear war between the US and Russia.

Dmitry Medvedev, who was himself also president of Russia, said he wasn’t sure who’d win a conflict between the two nuclear armed powers.

Medvedev is seen as Mad Vlad’s 'yes man' and often makes blood curdling threats against the West.

Now he’s warned of the “monstrous” consequences of nuclear in which it would be “impossible to say which army was the first and which second”.

Medvedev went on to claim Russia was fighting for his survival against NATO and demanded a “sanitary cordon” up to 60 miles deep around its territory.

Tensions between Russia and the US have been rising after Kremlin jets brought down an American drone with both sides displaying nuclear bombers in shows of strength.

America's top spy recently warned Russia may be forced to use nuclear weapons after its conventional forces have been crushed in Ukraine.

In another deranged rant, Medvedev yesterday said Germany would be nuked if it arrested Putin if he ever set foot in the country after the tyrant was charged with war crimes,

“The current head of a nuclear-weapon state came to Germany for example and was arrested,” he said.

“What is this? A declaration of war against the Russian Federation.”

He added that “all our resources” would be deployed against Germany.

An arrest warrant for the Russian tyrant was issued last week by the ICC that accused him of the "unlawful deportation" of children from Ukraine.

Medvedev was elected president of Russia in 2008 after Putin was forced to step down due to term limits.

He was once considered more liberal than Putin but has become more and more hardline in his statements, particularly since Putin began the Ukraine war.

Earlier this year threatened to unleash nuclear war on the West if Russia is defeated in Ukraine.

He posted on Telegram: "The defeat of a nuclear power in a conventional war may trigger a nuclear war.

"Nuclear powers have never lost major conflicts on which their fate depends.

"And this should be obvious to anyone. Even a Western politician with any trace of intelligence."

The Kremlin made clear that Medvedev's remarks on nuclear war were in full accordance with Moscow's nuke doctrine.

In June last year he said the four “Horsemen of the Apocalypse are on their way" as he warned the US not to supply Ukraine with weapons.

It comes after another close ally of Vladimir Putin has warned Russia will launch an "immediate nuclear strike" on any country that detains the despot.

The threatening message was made by state TV host Vladimir Solovyov – who went on a bizarre rant during a recent broadcast.

The threat was made during a broadcast on the state-run Russia-1 channel with Solovyov saying "any attempt to implement [the warrant] is a declaration of war".
