Police have identified human remains that were found “tightly wrapped” and hidden behind concrete at a Brisbane unit.

Homicide detectives and the Australian Federal Police identified the woman as Tanya Lee Glover, who is believed to have moved to Queensland from New South Wales in 2006.

She lived in the Fortitude Valley area until 2010, police said.

Cleaners had discovered Glover’s remains in a void behind concrete Besser blocks in the lower level of an Alderley unit complex in December 2022.

Police later said it was believed Glover had been there for about eight years, and an autopsy found “trauma to the body”.

Glover was vision and hearing impaired, police said, and would have been about 38 years old at the time of her death, which detectives continued to treat as a homicide investigation.

She was not known to Queensland Police, and no missing person reports had been made regarding her.

Detectives urged anyone with information about Glover, or who may have interacted with her, particularly during the 2006 to 2010 period, to come forward.

Glover, who was born on August 1, 1971, was described as Caucasian, between 155 and 165 centimetres tall, with brown hair.

Police were expected to brief the media later on Thursday.
