Embattled EPA chief Scott Pruitt maintains close ties with a billionaire coal executive who has been fighting Obama-era environmental regulations for years. So close, Pruitt reportedly was given Joseph W. Craft III’s courtside seats for one of the biggest college basketball games of the year.
Craft visited the EPA at least seven times during the first 14 months of Pruitt’s tenure, after having never been there before, The New York Times reported. And Pruitt apparently sat in Craft’s seats for a Kentucky-Louisville game.
Craft donated more than $2 million to the Trump campaign and inauguration.
It’s the latest in a series of Pruitt’s questionable ties to industry leaders and lobbyists with business before the EPA.
