- The author of a book of the Sussexes has called the couple ‘dreadful’ for Britain

- One revelation is the Queen telling an aid she was glad when Markle announced she was unable to attend the funeral of Prince Phillip on April 17
The author of a damning Meghan and Harry book has called the Duchess a ‘scheming’ woman who is ‘dreadful’ for Britain.
Tom Bower, author of a new insider’s account of the insider’s account of the Royal couple titled Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘pose a real threat’ to the Royal Family.
In an interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV, he said: ‘This woman is doing something dreadful to Britain.’
One of Mr Bower’s revelations in the book is that the Queen told an aid she was glad Meghan was unable to attend the funeral of her husband Prince Phillip on April 17.

Bower also says he believes the Queen kicked Harry and Meghan off the balcony at the Platinum Jubilee celebration, hiding them from view of the crowd for fear of the couple taking too much media attention away from the event and adding that Prince Charles and Prince William had a say in the decision.
‘They weren’t going to allow Netflix to dominate their celebration,’ he said.
Meghan’s split from her own family soon comes to mirror the separation Harry sees from his own, the book says.
Another passage includes Meghan behaving ‘appallingly’ at a advertisement filming for Reitmans, a women’s clothing stores company in Canada, where she walked off with a pair of shoes the company had only lent to her for the shoot.
The author reveals a scene where Meghan meets Harry’s friends for the first time on a weekend shooting party.
Most are his old friends from Eton, laughing together and sharing familiar jokes but soon finding themselves interrupted by Meghan, reprimanding them for joking about transgender people and feminism.
Bower said he had hoped to ‘diminish’ the importance of the royal couple with his book.
The author said no lawsuits from the Royal couple’s legal team have been issued yet, but Bower is no stranger to visiting court over his controversial biographies.
Two unauthorised biographies of Robert Maxwell, father of convicted British convicted sex offender and former socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, landed Bower in hot legal water — but ultimately won the raft of cases thrown at him.

Maxwell went so far as to buy the publishing company that owned the rights to publication to stop the book from being printed.
‘Maxwell tried to break into my house and went through my phone records and bank accounts,’ he told GQ magazine in 2011. ‘But I was a BBC reporter for 25 years and I’ve only feared for my life while reporting on wars.’
The author has penned original accounts of business tycoons including Richard Branson, Conrad Black and Bernie Ecclestone — but in his latest he has gone after the Sussexes.
Bower published a book on former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in 2019, accusing him of being an ‘anti-semite’ and a ‘Marxist’.
The author has published biographies of Boris Johnson, Gordon Brown, Simon Cowell, Tony Blair and Prince Charles.
He pulled no punches in his interview, hitting out at Prince Harry’s speech at the UN where he evoked the name of Nelson Mandela multiple times.

‘He does it because he needs a profile, that’s the only way he can get money,’ said Bower, asked why Harry has made public appearances speaking on a wide range of issues.
‘Everything is built around the future documentary series to promote the Sussexes,’ he said, referring to the Netflix series featuring Harry and Meghan now said to be in jeopardy following the streaming company’s stock collapse.
When Meghan was only 9 or ten years old, she told her father she wanted to walk down the red carpet.
‘She’s now done that,’ said Bower. ‘She’s now calculated that she can be a great success, and by marrying Harry, she did it.’
The book is scheduled for release on July 21.
