A shark has been spotted prowling the waters of Dubai just feet away from terrified tourists swimming in the Persian Gulf.
The predator was lurking close to the shore when a shocked lifeguard had to quickly urge bathers to get out of the water immediately.
One woman who had swum some way out towards a buoy initially feared she was stranded by the circling shark.
The lifeguard waved his hands at her to warn her of the imminent danger as the shark appeared to swim towards her.

Footage of the close call was filmed on the Kite Beach in Dubai which is a popular tourist hotspot for watersports.
The tourist revisited Kite Beach after the shark sighting and said that no others were spotted that day.
The holidaymaker said: ‘We waited and waited for the shark, and nothing came. However they are patrolling the shore.’

Kite Beach is usually well secured by lifeguards and swimming is only allowed until sunset.
Footage of the terrifying incident was shared on TikTok where is has been viewed 7million times.
Some praised the female swimmer for remaining calm and not splashing in the water which could have attracted the shark’s attention.
