Shocking moment thug who starred in Amazon traveller documentary punches defenceless man while wearing huge gold ring | The Sun

THE shocking moment a thug who appeared on an Amazon doc punched a defenseless OAP in the face has been caught on camera.

Douglas Joyce, 35, lashed out at the 78-year-old man in the back room of a pub last year, hitting him multiple times before he was knocked to the ground.

The thug was also wearing a massive gold ring when he dealt the blows.

Joyce has now been locked up for the vicious attack, which saw the elderly man left with horror facial injuries.

The 35-year-old boxer is a familiar face to many as he appeared in Amazon's The Joyce Family Documentary.

The show, which "explores the world of the travelling community", hit screens last year.

In the doc Joyce, who is known as "Dougie", shows off his wealth – with plans to arrive at his £60,000 wedding in a helicopter.

He ended up being banned from doing so because he couldn't land in the car park.

Joyce and his wife tied the knot at a luxury ceremony Gorton Monastery in Manchester last year – and she wore a £12,000 Calla Blanche dress which took over a year to make.

The pair further showed off their wealth with Joyce wearing a three-piece suit and massive gold watch while the extravagant event involved four Rolls-Royces.

He was said to have once turned down a role in the iconic My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

Joyce also shares parts of his luxury life with his 26,000 subscribers on YouTube, and documents his boxing and training regimes.

The 35-year-old is also the founder and president of 3D Fight Club – a bare-knuckle boxing and MMA organisation he set up two years ago.

But his antics have now seen him thrown behind bars for 19 months for causing grievous bodily harm.

The horror attack unfolded in October last year, with CCTV showing Joyce confronting the man before he launches at him, his fist hitting the OAP's face with brutal blows.

He then stands over the man and continues to intimidate him, before convincing this own father, John Joyce, to punch the man, too.

Joyce continues to intimidate the 78-year-old before throwing his fist again, seeing the man fly backwards and to the ground.

Detective Constable Natalie Hollows said: “Joyce is an aggressive and violent man who intended to intimidate and inflict pain on a vulnerable 78 year old man by carrying out this horrendous assault.

“Joyce was wearing a large gold pyramid-style ring when he punched the man in the face, causing him significant injury due to the size and shape accelerated by force and the series of punches he endured.
