Moment Southwest Airlines flight attendant kicks couple off plane after ‘intoxicated’ mother was seen ‘doing cartwheels while drinking wine’
- A Southwest Airlines flight attendant banned a couple from boarding a plane after allegedly seeing a woman do drunken cartwheels in the airport
- The video was first posted to Reddit in June on the Public Freakout thread
- Millions have viewed the clip, with many lending support to the flight attendant
A viral video posted online shows the moment a Southwest Airlines flight attendant kicked a couple off a plane after one woman was reportedly seen doing drunken cartwheels before boarding.
The video, first posted to Reddit in June, shows an angry flight attendant and airline worker barring at least two people from getting on the plane before takeoff.
The unidentified flight attendant repeatedly tells the couple that they need to walk away, saying they are ‘jeopardizing the safety of this aircraft.’
At one point, the Southwest employee says she personally witnessed the woman doing cartwheels in the airport, and saw her drinking alcohol in the terminal.
‘You’re flipping all over the ground, you’re engaging, you’re loud, you want attention from everybody,’ the flight attendant tells the woman. ‘The whole entire crew saw it and all of us are in agreement that you cannot come on here.’
The passengers on the plane have not been identified and it is unknown if they faced any other consequences related to the incident.

The incident happened just before a Southwest Airlines flight took off
The three and a half minute video starts with the flight attendant telling the couple to ‘walk away,’ which prompts the man recording to respond, ‘you are shaking.’
She responds that she is angry and that she is worried the couple is threatening her own safety and the safety of others on the plane.
One Reddit commenter wrote that he was not surprised the flight attendant was shaking: ‘Yes she’s a stewardess not a bouncer and she doesn’t know how crazy you douchebags are going to get.’
Thousands of users discussed the woman’s seemingly inebriated state and her words, which she slurs throughout the video.
The woman – who says she works with children – attempts to justify the ‘cartwheels and backbends’ done in the airport as the flight attendant stands firm.
At one point, she asks the stewardess for a sobriety test and slurs her words and then says she is going to post the video online.
The woman allegedly admitted to having at least one glass of wine, which the flight attendant says gave her justification for kicking them off.
‘So anybody who’s had one glass cannot get onto this plane,’ the woman slurs.
‘Anybody who is exhibiting behavior of being intoxicated is not allowed to come onto an aircraft,’ the flight attendant responds.
‘Do I seem intoxicated to you right now,’ the woman asks.
‘Yeah, you do,’ the stewardess replies without hesitation.

Another man – presumably an employee of Southwest or the airport – backs up the flight attendant throughout the video and tells the couple they need to leave
The video continues with the woman remarking that she needs to board the plane as she has kids at home waiting for her that she needs to get back to.
‘Well that’s unfortunate,’ the flight attendant says.
Just before the clip cuts out, the flight attendant tells the couple that they are violating federal aviation regulations by filming her without her permission.
She asks another employee to delete the video but that evidently did not occur.
The video elicited a strong reaction among social media users on X, formerly Twitter, where it received more than nine million views.
‘They were super drunk so I don’t blame her. Liability.’
‘Good for the flight attendant. She handled herself really well.’
‘Cartwheels down the skybridge? Um bye bye.’
‘LMFAOOO southwest need to give her a raise idk.’
On Reddit, many remarked that there were more levels to
‘Flight crew pretty much work as an extension of the FAA and you’re trained to never let visibly drunk people onboard,’ user CounterfeitRed wrote.
They noted that inebriation levels change in the air and at high altitude so the flight attendant may have been trying to protect the couple from themselves.
‘At higher altitudes, the effects of alcohol and drinking can be more pronounced than at lower elevations,’ according to the Shah Law Firm.
‘Due to the lower oxygen levels, people tend to get drunker faster, leading to greater impairment in judgment and coordination,’ the agency noted.

Not all online sided with the flight attendant, however, as some argued that she seemed smug and like she was enjoying a ‘power trip.’
‘Since when can you not be drunk on a plane? I see people wasted on planes and in the airport all the time lol.’
‘Someone didn’t make the high school cheerleading squad.’
‘I don’t like either of their attitudes frankly.’
