A terrifying tattoo-covered knifeman has been jailed for a year for threatening a woman with a blade.

Michael Simpson, 40, who has his whole face covered in tribal tattoos, confronted an innocent passer-by in Ebbw Vale, South Wales.

A court heard Simpson brought out the blade – and threatened her ‘in such a way that there was an immediate risk of serious physical harm.’

But the inked-up knifeman was caught after the attack in September last year on the 28-year-old woman in the Blaenau Gwent town.

Simpson admitted making threats with a blade in a public place and was jailed for a year at Cardiff Crown Court.

Simpson, of Ebbw Vale, was ordered to pay a victim surcharge after he is released.
