TRIBUTES have been paid to a teen who died after a suspected "drug death" when he was found "unwell" at a house party.

The youngster has been named locally as Jake 'Jay' Jones after the tragedy over the weekend.

Emergency crews raced to the home in Ballingry, Fife, after reports that a 16-year-old had become unresponsive just before noon on Sunday.

Jake was rushed to Victoria Hospital in nearby Kirkcaldy but doctors were unable to revive him.

It’s understood that detectives are investigating if drugs played a part in his death.

Friend Abi Wilson posted a touching tribute to her late pal.

She wrote: "Rest easy jay, I loved you then and I'll forever love you.

"You helped me with so much stuff and I'll forever be grateful for everything you've done for me.

"Until we meet again, fly high best friend."

Francesca Louise wrote: "R Jay will forever be beside you he’s our little angel now.
