A terraced house on the market for £200,000 has caused a stir among home hunters who say one of the bedrooms appears to have been used to grow cannabis.

Estate agent photos of the room inside the property in Crawley, West Sussex, has silver sheeting covering the walls, windows, ceiling and floor.

It is also littered with suspicious looking tubes, lighting and tubs of chemicals, with a bag in the corner with the word ‘plant’ written on it.

Local Eve Ainsworth said on Twitter: ‘This local property listing is making me laugh.

Another Twitter user claims: ‘Anybody want to buy a house with a pre-installed grow room?’

One prospective buyer added: ‘Energy costs most likely put that grow under.’

A third – called Osman – simply said: ‘Wow.’ 

The terraced house also has overgrown the front and back gardens.
