Three people were killed and another critically injured in a wrong-way crash in Queens early Saturday, authorities said.
The deadly smashup unfolded at about 5:30 a.m. on the westbound lane of the Grand Central Parkway near the Cross Island Parkway exit in Queens, where police believe one of the two cars may have been driving the wrong way down the highway, officials said.
After the collision, two men in the first vehicle were rushed to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Two others in the second car were also transported to a nearby medical center, where a female passenger was pronounced dead and another man was in critical condition, cops said.
The accident snarled traffic, closing lanes in both directions near the scene of the crash, the Official of Emergency Management said.
