Two children hospitalised after being hit by car in Melbourne’s west

Two children have been hospitalised after being struck by a car at Wyndham Vale in Melbourne’s west.

Paramedics were called to reports of an incident involving pedestrians and a car at the corner of Heaths and McGrath roads just after 5pm on Friday and treated two primary-school-aged children at the scene.

Ambulance Victoria said one of the children was treated for an upper body injury and a leg injury, while the other suffered leg injuries. One child was flown to hospital, and the other was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Victoria Police said emergency services attended the single-vehicle incident on Friday afternoon and said they believed the two children had been struck by a vehicle.

Police said the female driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene.

Officers are investigating the cause of the incident.
