TWO men have been arrested after a "large treasure hoard" was found in Herefordshire.

The two men were quizzed by West Mercia Police after the find.

It's understood that the treasure was found at the end of August 2023.

The men, aged 65 and 66, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and handling tainted coins.

Both men have now been released on police bail.

And a probe has now been launched in to possible offences committed under the Treasure Act 1996 and the Dealing in Cultural Objects (Offences) Act 2003.
