Three elderly people tragically died after being struck by a Russian shell, claim Ukranian officials.
Russian artillery reportedly fired near the eastern Ukranian city of Lyman. Two people are also said to have been wounded in the strikes, which targeted the villages of Torske and Zakitne.
The three people who were reportedly killed – two women and a man aged 63 to 88 – were said to be sitting on a bench in Torske when the shilling hit. The area is close to the front line and regularly comes under attack, reports the BBC.
There have also been reports of explosions overnight in the port city of Sevastopol. It is based in the Russian-occupied Crimea.
