Video captures fear and chaos as Aeromexico plane crashed

Horrifying video shot by a passenger aboard the ill-fated Aeroméxico flight captured the view of the wing as the aircraft races down the rain-soaked runway — as well as the chaotic moments after it crashed amid screams in the cabin.

“Open the door!” passengers are heard shouting in the footage after the Embraer 190 slams into the ground near the runway at General Guadalupe Victoria International Airport in Durango as it takes off for Mexico City.

Ramin Parsa, 32, who was shooting the video, drops his cell phone about 40 seconds into the clip as all hell breaks loose after the Tuesday crash.

During the frantic seconds after the crash, passengers — including children — are heard yelling as they scramble to escape from the broken, smoke-filled fuselage, which is quickly engulfed in flames.

“We were praying when we got away from the wing. Children were crying. People were burned, their hands and their feet,” Parsa told NBC News on Wednesday.

“It’s a miracle we are alive,” he added.

All 103 people on board — 99 passengers, two pilots and two flight attendants — survived the frightening accident.

Durango state Gov. José R. Aispuro Torres said 49 people were hospitalized as of Tuesday afternoon.

The pilot, Capt. Carlos Meyran, was the most seriously injured and required surgery.
