A hit-and-run driver slammed into a 27-year-old woman crossing a Brooklyn street Wednesday, catapulting her across the intersection in a horrifying incident that was caught on video.
The driver of a 2007 Chrysler sedan blew a red light about 2:55 p.m. at Lee Avenue and Middleton Street in Williamsburg, then plowed into the victim who was in the crosswalk, police said. He fled the scene and was at large Wednesday night, police said.
Cops said moments before striking the woman, the driver sideswiped a vehicle waiting at the stoplight.
The impact caused the woman to flip in the air, drop her bags, and land close to the opposite crosswalk.
The contents of her bags littered the roadway while she was airborne, the footage shows.
She can be seen struggling to get up, as good Samaritans rush to her side.
The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
The suspect kept going and ditched his vehicle nearby, which was later recovered by cops.
