Warning as two women sexually assaulted in Barton park as cops hunt man on bike over sick attacks | The Sun

POLICE are hunting a suspect after two women were sexually assaulted in a park.

The victims were attacked Barton-upon-Humber, Lincolnshire, on June 25 and July 15.

There was also a report of indecent exposure in the area on July 13.

Officers are now hunting the man and have urged the public to "be aware".

They said the suspect left the area on a "distinctive" dark-coloured mountain-style bike that had a red and orange base colour and tiger print wheel spokes.

The man has been described as white, in his early 20s and was approximately 5ft 9ins tall.

He is thought to have had short, dark hair and at the time and was wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap.

Humberside Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who knows the man to come forward.

Detective Inspector Gemma Walker said: "Whilst I don’t want to concern people, I do want people to be aware of a recent report of a man indecently exposing himself on Thursday, July 13 and two reports of a man sexually assaulting women on Sunday, June 25 and Saturday, July 15.

"We have carried out a number of enquiries and followed up on various leads including reviewing CCTV footage and carrying out house-to-house enquiries in connection with the three reported incidents.

"Understandably this will be extremely concerning for Barton residents, and I would like to reassure the community that we are treating this as a priority and we will not tolerate any form of harm towards women and girls.

"We have increased patrols in and around the area and officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Team are continuing to provide additional reassurance to the local community. I’d encourage anyone with any concerns to please come and speak to them.

"If you know who this man is or see anyone acting suspiciously in the area, please call us immediately so that we can apprehend him and question him in relation to these incidents."
