A leading weather expert has given his verdict on the snow we can expect in the UK over the coming days.
Temperatures this morning (Friday, November 24) are expected to clock in at around -1C in some parts of Scotland, 3C in the north of England and 5C further south.
It comes as Met Office forecasts have started to mention the possibility of "wintry showers" in places. Weather maps have also been hinting that the white stuff is on the way.

Snow actually started coming down over the mountains in Scotland yesterday (Thursday, November 23). Jim Dale, Senior Meteorological Consultant at British Weather Services, told the Daily Star that while this hilltop snow is expected to continue through the weekend, we won't see any widespread flurries.
Mr Dale described how Arctic air is currently pushing into Central Europe from Scandinavia. While places like Germany and Poland could soon face a deluge, he said we are on the "fringes".
Mr Dale said: "It’s starting now. It’s snowing now in the Highlands and Grampians. Only the tops of the mountains but that’s where it is.
"I think this particular phase is not going to bring anything particularly special. It’s the first universal push in terms of cold weather and an Arctic air stream – which is exactly what it is.

"I don’t think there’s too much to worry about from Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The majority of that will be on Thursday, Friday and a little bit on Saturday for the Grampians."
However, Mr Dale does expect this cold snap to "hold" meaning lower temperatures and wider outbreaks of snow could be on the agenda soon. He said: "For this next fortnight, I believe we’ll stay very much on the cold side. Not on the freezing side per se.
"There will be more frosts to come, I think those frosts will become increasingly notable. And then we’re looking to see what the sporadic snow will do – so in this respect there’s everything to play for."
