When is the TFL tube strike this week, how long will it last and which lines will be affected?

The planned strike is due to cause some disruption to many journeys. Here's what you need to know to avoid the hustle and bustle.

When is the TFL tube strike this week?

A tube strike is planned for this week starting from 9pm on Friday 21 December going into all day on Saturday 22 December.

How long will it last?

On Transport For London's official website, they say that services on the Central line will resume from about midnight on Saturday 22 December for the night tube.

Waterloo & City line services will resume on Monday 24 December.

The TFl is aware of two events happening during the planned strikes: Winter Wonderland is happening on Friday and Saturday in Hyde park, and West Ham vs Watford is at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Which lines will be affected?

A strike is planned on the Central and Waterloo & City lines.

There is also a strike planned on the Bakerloo line on Boxing Day, Wednesday 26 December.

If it goes ahead, some zone 1 Bakerloo line stations will be closed but a normal service is expected to run from approx. 05:00 on Wednesday 26 December (Boxing Day), for the whole day.

Tube passengers are advised to use alternative on tube, rail and bus services throughout the strike.
