RON Jeremy was once one of the world's most prolific porn stars and was once the adult film industry's biggest name after making more than 2,200 movies.
But in 2021 the former pornography king hit the headlines after it was revealed he faced 36 charges of sexual assault.
Who is Ron Jeremy?
Born on March 12, 1952 in New York, Ron Jeremy broke into the porn industry with his first film in 1979.
Hundred of porn movies later, he is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for Most Appearances in Adult Films and has appeared in more than 2,200 movies.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Ron Jeremy acquired a net worth of around $1million.
Before his arrest, he lived in Beverly Hills, California, and to the public's knowledge – does not have any children.
Where is Ron Jeremy now?
Back in June of 2020, Jeremy was charged with raping three women and sexually assaulting a fourth.
The Los Angeles County district attorney Jackie Lacey said the alleged incidents took place in West Hollywood between 2014 and 2019.
In August 2021, the district attorney added more felony charges.
Those charges include:
- 12 counts of forcible rape
- 7 counts of forcible oral copulation
- 6 counts of sexual battery by restraint
- 4 counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object
- 2 of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person and one count each of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 or 15
- Sodomy by use of force
- Assault with intent to commit rape.
“Far too often, survivors of sexual assault suffer in isolation,” District Attorney Gascón said in a statement.
Gascón added: “We must ensure that survivors have all options available to help with recovery, including trauma-informed services for healing and support to report such crimes.”
The investigation is still currently under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Los Angeles Police Department, and the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation.
Jeremy denies all of the charges and has pleaded not guilty to all 36.
His trial was suspended in March 2022 after he failed to recognise his lawyer.
"I tried to get his attention – unsuccessfully," his attorney Stuart Goldfarb told the judge at the time. "He was unable to determine who I was."
After hearing from a court bailiff that Jeremy was "incoherent" and unable to follow orders, the judge referred the case to Hollywood Mental Health Court and ordered Jeremy's transfer to a mental health facility, where he remains.
