A WOMAN is fighting for her life after being found in an East London street with stab wounds overnight.
Police found the woman, believed to be in her 30s, badly injured after receiving reports of an argument between a man and a woman on Sunday.
A man, also in his 30s, was arrested at the scene on High Road in Chadwell Heath on suspicion of attempted murder.
He has been taken into custody.
The woman was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital. Her injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
It comes after London has been gripped by knife crime, with stabbings in the capital on the rise.
The London murder toll is currently at 118, after a man was stabbed to death in Lawless London in Anerley, South East London, on Sunday.
Met Police today confirmed they had been called to a residential home about 8.20pm on Sunday due "to reports of an argument between a man and a woman."
They added: "Officers attended the scene and found a woman in the street, believed to be in her 30s, who had sustained a number of stab wounds.
"She was treated by paramedics from London Ambulance Service and then taken to an east London hospital. Her injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

"A man, in his 30s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.
"He has been taken into custody at an east London police station."
