A WOMAN has been killed in a horror crash after a car hit a cement mixer truck in a quiet village.

Emergency services raced to Dunkerton, near Bath, at 1pm on Thursday following reports of a serious collision.

The driver of the car was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Specially trained officers are now supporting the family during this time and our thoughts are with them," police said.

The A367 at Dunkerton and surrounding roads are expected to be shut for some time as police investigate.

Cops are now urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
