Teenagers and young adults think a reliable internet connection is more important than finding love, a survey has found.
Being online is rated above going on holiday, making friends and even buying a house for those born between 1997 and 2012 – Generation Z, or ‘Zoomers’.
The poll of priorities for 2022 found that ‘connectivity’ was of great importance to 74 per cent of Zoomers, with only career progression higher at 77 per cent.

Being able to go on holiday was seen as a big deal for 70 per cent, and 69 per cent want to make new friends.
Just 51 per cent of the group said settling down with a partner was in their top priorities, while only 43 per cent listed getting married, and 40 per cent having children.
Other priorities include putting a deposit on a house (55 per cent) and watching the World Cup (52 per cent).
Sharon Meadows of EE, which did the survey, said: ‘A reliable connection both at home and on the go is essential for young adults.’
Working from home saw better internet become key when choosing where to live, with one in five saying it was the most important factor – ahead of living near good schools, green spaces and having a low crime rate.
