Twitter has been playing up for some, with 14,932 reports on website DownDetector. The website shows an error message when users try to log on saying: “Something is technically wrong. Thanks for noticing—we’re going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon.”
Whilst on the app, users get a blank screen with the message: “Tweets aren’t loading right now. Please tap to retry.”
Users are commenting on website Down Detector, but no clear reason for the outage has been issued.
One said: “is it just me whos getting errors and cant log in?/? im confused?”
Another added: “I thought it was just me for a minute. Is anyone else getting an error page with a robot on it?”
A third said: “I thought I’d lost you all. I was actually devastated. I logged out to see if that did anything and now I can’t get back in”.
DownDetector reports that people started reporting issues at 7.46pm BST, with 39 percent coming from the website, 34 percent from the iOS app and 25 percent from Android.
Twitter’s status page has acknowledged there is a service disruption.
