A Place In The Sun’s Laura Hamilton hits back at criticism as fans question show

A Place in the Sun: Laura Hamilton delivers couple bad news

Laura Hamilton insisted “there are a lot of people buying” properties on A Place In The Sun, as she hit back at criticism from sceptical Channel 4 viewers.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the presenter addressed the common misconception, while sharing what fans can expect from the new series.

Laura explained that repeated episodes of A Place In The Sun can lead viewers to believe that buyers who appear on the show don’t usually go through with a purchase.

When quizzed on forthcoming unseen episodes, Laura spilled that fans will see “loads of people buying properties”.

She continued: “It’s funny, because I always see these little clips that go round where people go, you know, ‘oh A Place In The Sun, does anyone actually buy it?’

“Well, actually, there are a lot of people buying.

“They’re mostly watching old shows, but there’s loads of great destinations and loads of great house hunters in the series – the new series started last week, I believe.

“So yeah, it’s on now and there’s some exciting news coming as well, so watch this space,” Laura teased.

While sharing how much she is still enjoying her role on the Channel 4 show, the star admitted: “It’s incredible, now, the amount of people that are buying.

“I’ve had like a really great run of people buying and so I think that’s brilliant, and a testament.

“I suppose the fact that now people can work remotely, that sort of means that more people think, ‘we’ll buy a holiday home and we can work out there when we need to,’ if their bosses allow them to.

“So, absolutely, I love it,” the star, who first joined A Place In The Sun in 2011, added.

Mum-of-two Laura also shared her gratitude towards the Channel 4 show, as her young children “get to travel with her sometimes”, following the star’s split from husband Alex Goward last year.

Laura clarified that she can “definitely, 100 percent” see herself fronting the show for a long time to come.

A Place In The Sun airs today at 3pm on Channel 4.
