Alison Hammond says she’d have McDonald’s at her wedding
Alison Hammond has been forced to defend herself after a This Morning viewer called her out for wearing what they believed was a luxurious Rolex during the UK’s cost of living crisis.
The fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote: “#ThisMorning I love watching @AlisonHammond but with the cost of living affecting us all, I find it uncomfortable seeing her wearing, what looks like a Rolex.”
The 48-year-old was quick to respond by clarifying that the watch was not a Rolex, and in fact was a sentimental gift from her late mother.
She expressed: “I wish!! It’s actually a Michael Kors Watch my late mum bought me and it cost her £185 of her hard earned money.
“It means more to me than any Rolex. Sorry you felt uncomfortable,” Alison signed off with a red love heart.

Alison’s fans were also quick to defend her and pointed out that it’s her choice what she decides to wear on the ITV show.
One follower said: “I’m sorry but that’s a ridiculous thing to say. Rolex or not, Alison can wear what she wants she’s worked hard for whatever she buys herself.
“The cost of living crisis isn’t anyone’s fault except the government.”
Another fan wrote: “Oh @AlisonHammond don’t be sorry, you can wear what you want, no need for you to explain, love you in ireland.”

A third X user added: “I think you’ll find it’s not a Rolex – and even if it were, so what?!”
While a fourth expressed: “What a strange thing to say – surely Alison can spend her hard earned cash on whatever she wants.”
This isn’t the first time Alison has been criticised by This Morning viewers.
The Great British Bake Off star sparked backlash last week when she was accused of “bragging” about having underfloor heating.
Alison had complained about being unable to turn on her underfloor heating at home, and it being cold as a result.
Some viewers were left unhappy, as not everybody has access to underfloor heating, especially when people are already struggling with heating costs.
