Gillian Taylforth is reportedly dating a new man, who is almost ten years younger than her, after splitting from her ex Dave Fairbairn, who was jailed in 2022.

The actress, 68, best known for playing Kathy Beale in EastEnders, was pictured walking with her reported new beau Philip Oag in Hertfordshire over the weekend.

According to The Sun, Gillian and Philip have been dating for at least a year and are living together at the actress’ house.

A source told the publication: “Gillian is head over heels for Philip – they’ve been secretly dating for over a year and he’s even moved into her home. Everyone’s so pleased for her.”

Philip, 59, is the Director of Operations at The Cranley Clinic – a cosmetic clinic in London.

Express.co.uk have approached representatives for Gillian for comment.

Gillian previously dated her convicted drug baron ex-boyfriend Dave Fairbairn for six years, however, she decided to call off their wedding at the end of 2019 after a series of disagreements.

Dave was later jailed in 2022 after admitting to possessing firearms and being found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

He had previously served seven years in jail after being found guilty in 2003 of plotting to import one of the biggest ecstasy hauls seized in the UK.

During their relationship, Gillian was banned from driving for 24 months when she failed a breath test and was found to be “significantly over” the drink drive limit.

She pleaded to avoid the ban as the star said she needed to be able to drive her then-fiancé to treatment for his prostate cancer.

Gillian found fame in Albert Square in 1985 and remained on the BBC soap until 2000. She then appeared in Footballers’ Wives, The Bill and Hollyoaks before returning to EastEnders in 2015.

The star first burst onto our screens as Kathy Beale in the very first episode of EastEnders on February 19, 1985, with the actress quickly becoming a firm favourite among viewers.

Her character has had a number of dramatic storylines over the years involving rape, teenage pregnancy, domestic violence, divorce and alcoholism.

One of the long-running mysteries about the character has been her age, but the BBC recently revealed Kathy is 73-years-old.

People flocked to social media to proclaim that Gillian is “ageless”, with one person saying: “Gillian Taylforth does not age. Love Kathy Beale, one of the EastEnders originals”, while another wrote: “She’s always looked young for her age.”
