Aljaž Škorjanec says he ‘hasn’t moved’ as he enjoys baby bubble after birth of Lyra

Strictly Come Dancing's Aljaž Škorjanec has said that he "hasn't moved" as he enjoys the baby bubble following the birth of his first child Lyra. Aljaž and his wife Janette Manrara, welcomed baby Lyra on Friday, July 28.

Just two days on the new father has shared a sweet selfie of himself looking over the crib at his daughter. Sharing the snap to his Instagram Stories, the star told his followers that it is love at every sight when he looks at the little one.

The 33 year old said: "Love at every sight. I haven't moved today."

On Saturday, the couple announced the wonderful news of the birth on Instagram, alongside a family photo. The Strictly Come Dancing legends wrote: "Lyra Rose Skorjanec. July 28, 2023."

The couple were beaming as they posed for their first photo as a family of three. It appeared that they were in the hospital following the birth as Lyra lay on Janette's chest.

Over 15 thousand comments have been left on the monumental Instagram post. Many celebrity pals and fellow Strictly stars were among those who commented on the post.

Ashley Roberts wrote on the post: "Lyra Rose is here!!! So beautiful!!! Love you!!!"

While former Strictly dancer James Jordan said: "So happy for you both. Sending love from the Jordans."

Dancing On Ice judge Oti Mabuse told the couple: "CONGRATULATIONS. Best news ever."

Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell wrote: "Yay so so exciting." Amy Dowden also said: "Utter perfection."

Former Strictly star Jake Wood said: "Welcome to the world Lyra!!! You have chosen amazing parents."

Gemma Atkinson has recently welcomed her second child with Gorka Márquez, who is good friends with Aljaž. She simply wrote on the post: "Just wonderful."

With the couple who tied the knot in 2017 being hugely successful dancers, their careers depend on music. With that in mind, it seems that the name Lyra has a special meaning for the parents.

The baby naming website The Bump states that the name Lyra is of Greek origin from Orpheus's legendary lyre, which is a small instrument. As per the myth, Orpheus would play music that would see the Gods, trees and animals start dancing.

That would make it the perfect name for the child of two Strictly legends. Aside from the musical connections, the name Lyra is a star constellation.
