Amy Dowden on reuniting with Strictly co-stars
Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has issued an honest update about her cancer battle.
The 33-year-old has stage three breast cancer and last week underwent her second round of chemotherapy.
Following the treatment, she expressed her heartache over experiencing hair loss and today took to her Instagram to ask fans for some tips after suffering pain.
In response, one of Amy’s 476,000 followers put forward the idea of shaving her hair off completely.
Amy said that while this had been a few people’s suggestion, she was “personally not ready” to do so.

Taking to her Instagram Story, she explained: “Everyone is different and how they cope or go about their journey is up to them and needs to be what’s right for them.
“I’ve had lots telling me, ‘Just shave it, it’s only hair’.
“I’ve already gone through body changes for life, emotions, pain, right now I want to try [and] save what I can with the cooling cap.
“Absolutely to those who brave the shave, you are strong!”
Amy went on to say that those suffering had “different emotions and battles” and that people should do what’s best for them.

Amy’s update comes after she shared a photo from her hospital bed after undergoing her second round of chemotherapy.
The bare-faced beauty gave a thumbs up to the camera as she excitedly told fans she was finally able to get back into her own bed at home.
She went on to say she was “feeling good” although had some blood clots and a sore arm.
“But again forever grateful to the NHS and my heroes around me,” Amy added.
“Can’t wait to get into my own bed since Monday though.”
Last week, the Strictly star shared a selfie of her wearing a cold cap ahead of treatment.
Keeping up her spirits, Amy positively said she was “one step closer to the dance floor” and was “feeling much better” about the procedure that time round.
She added: “Last time I was so anxious, nervous, scared and full of emotions but this time I know what to expect but also helps that every single member of staff are just utterly amazing and I’m so very grateful to you all!”
