Strictly’s Angela Rippon reveals her friends are jealous of her dance partner Kai Widdrington as she gushes ‘he is a dream to work with’
She shocked the nation with her incredible flexibility during her week one performance of Strictly.
But Angela Rippon has credited her success to her partner Kai Widdrington for allowing her to see that anything is possible despite her age as she gushed he is a ‘dream to work with’.
Complimenting the professional dance partner, she admitted her girlfriends are jealous she is dancing with Kai as she confessed ‘as a human being he ticks all the boxes.’
Talking to The Sun, the British icon discussed how she trusts him completely and allows him to push her to her limits each week.
At the age of 79 Angela is the eldest ever Strictly contestant, however her flexibility would suggest otherwise.

The star has showcased her ever-agile physique in her dances so far and left the judges almost speechless with her rumba, last Saturday in which she performed an impressive backbend and the splits – twice.
Head judge Shirley Ballas told her: ‘I’m in shock. Well done.’
Angela revealed Kai has enabled her to not see her age as a barrier to what she can do.
‘What he’s done is made me realise that there are things I can do that I assumed, at 78 and 79, I wouldn’t be able to do.’
The star is still finding the Strictly training gruelling and admitted that she is now reliant on the Voltarol and Ibuprofen.
However Angela is still having an amazing time, and was blown away after she went viral with her week one performance.
Angela showcased her incredible flexibility as she stretched her leg over head head during her Cha Cha.
The broadcaster looked sensational in silver fringe mini dress as she performed to Shirley Bassey’s cover of Pink’s Get The Party Started before kicking her partner lifted her leg for the dramatic finale.

And the online reaction was completely unexpected as the star joked she hardly ever makes headlines with her show Rip Off Britain.
The star was in every newspaper, website, had 400,000 views on YouTube in a day and even made it onto that week’s episode of Channel 4’s Gogglebox.
‘When I saw we were on Gogglebox when we did the leg thing, that’s when it hit home. I think there was the two girls from Leeds and they were like, “Oh my God, I can’t even touch me toes!”’
While winning the glitterball trophy would be incredible, Angela revealed that she hopes the couple make it to Blackpool, where Angela danced as a child when she was just six and seven years old.
