Anya Taylor-Joy's failed attempt to take a photo on Android goes viral

Anya Taylor-Joy’s failed attempt at a selfie where she accidentally LOCKS a fan’s Android phone goes viral: ‘That man is crying his way to the Apple Store’

Anya Taylor-Joy left one fan wishing they had an iPhone late last month, as the star struggled to work their Android phone while taking a selfie.

The Queen’s Gambit actress, 27, had been promoting Furiosa with co-star Chris Hemsworth at Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil earlier last week when the humorous incident occurred.

In a now-viral video shared by Pop Crave on X, formerly known as Twitter, the blonde beauty could be seen taking selfies and signing autographs for her adoring fans at the event.

At one point, she reached for one fan’s phone, which was an Android, and tried to take a photo, but ended up going to the lock screen.

The star turned around to hand the phone back to the fan while mouthing an apology, but promised to try again.

Once the fan loaded the camera back up, Anya retrieved the Android and confirmed exactly how to take the photo.

However, when clicking the side to take the quick snap, she caused the entire screen to go black.

She once again turned around and gave the phone back to the fan while sincerely apologizing.

Due to the energetic crowd surrounding her, it appeared she didn’t have a chance to make a third attempt to take a picture with the fan’s Android.

Social media users jumped to the comment section of the clip to share their thoughts, with one penning, ‘This was heartbreaking to watch.’

Another typed out, ‘That man is crying his way to the Apple Store,’ while one fan added, ‘My girl has never seen a galaxy.’

One individual wrote, ‘It would be hilarious if this appears in @Apple next commercial,’ and another penned, ‘She needs to be sponsored by Apple.’

‘Respect for her coz she didn’t return the phone after finding it was an Android device,’ another social media user added in the flood of comments.

Along with going viral for the Android incident, the beauty also made a statement in an eye-catching ensemble while attending CCXP in Brazil last week on Thursday.

She donned a one-shoulder, cream-colored cropped top that easily showed off her toned frame. The Menu star also slipped into a matching, low-waisted skirt.

Her platinum locks were parted in the middle, and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in light waves.

Anya was joined by Chris Hemsworth as they promoted and discussed the upcoming Mad Max prequel titled, Furiosa.

Taylor-Joy tackled the leading role of Furiosa, a character that had been previously played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).

The film was a success and received critical praise, while also garnering a total of 10 Academy Award nominations – winning six.

The upcoming project – which was directed by George Miller – is slated to premiere in theaters next year on May 24, 2024.

Anya took on the role of Furiosa, with other stars cast in the movie, including Hemsworth as Dementus, Tom Burke and also Nathan Jones.

While talking to Entertainment Weekly about working on the project, Anya gushed, ‘It will probably take me the two years before it comes out to be able to digest what happened’; seen in September in Tokyo

The premise follows, ‘The origin story of renegade warrior Furiosa before she teamed up with Mad Max in Fury Road,’ per an official IMDB synopsis.

While talking to Entertainment Weekly about working on the project late last year in November, Anya gushed, ‘It will probably take me the two years before it comes out to be able to digest what happened.’

‘I just finished it, so it’s a bit: “Wow. Life-changing.”‘

The star continued, ‘Longest shoot I’ve ever done, for sure, but with the most unbelievable crew, and I mean, what a character. I had her. We had each other.’
