Auf Wiedersehen, Pet icon Joe Fagin dies aged 83 as fans share heartbreak

Singer-songwriter Joe Fagin, beloved by Auf Wiedersehen, Pet fans, has died aged 83.

The sad news was shared by Auf Wiedersehen, Pet on their social media account.

A statement read: “Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. Thank you so much for the memories Joe!” 

The pop singer-songwriter was known by fans for his hit Breakin’ Away / That’s Livin’ Alright.

The songs were the opening and closing theme songs to the first series of the ITV comedy-drama Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.

Fans rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to pay tribute to the iconic singer.

One person wrote: “Very sad loss. Thoughts are with his family. I still have the single which I bought when I was in school.

“So many very found memories of a Friday night watching this classic & singing to the opening & closing titles.”

“Sad news. The songs he recorded for Auf Wiedersehen, Pet were absolutely perfect for the show. Rest in Peace,” another fan added.
