Clive Myrie’s touching tribute to George Alagiah
Mastermind host Clive Myrie has reassured his fans that he is safe after fans were concerned that he was still reporting on the devastating events in the Middle East.
The well-respected BBC presenter, who is expected to appear at the Stroud Book Festival this weekend, has been reporting from Israel and Gaza over the past few days.
An attendee at the upcoming book festival voiced their concern on X, formally known as Twitter, about Clive’s safety.
They shared: “@CliveMyrieBBC we have reassured our worrying Mum that you are safe! Looking forward to taking her and her pal this evening to hear you.”
Clive kindly replied to the tweet: “Thank you Juliet. Regards to your mum.”

There was also a screenshot of an email from the event organisers, saying: “We have had a large number of phone calls regarding Clive Myrie this evening, thank you for your concern but we have been informed by The Stroud Book Festival that Clive is back in the country and will be appearing his evening as planned.”
The 59-year-old will be appearing alongside Victoria Derbyshire and TV chef Tom Kerridge at the popular festival in Stroud.
Clive also recently opened up about his decision not to have children with his wife, Catherine.
Away from his journalism career, the broadcaster lives a very quiet life and does plenty of travelling.

Speaking in an interview with The Times, Clive shared: “We were trying for a child, nothing seemed to be happening.
“And then we ended up moving and realised that it would be quite unfair, because we just love travelling so much.
“We gradually decided it wasn’t really right for us. We come from such big families, our get-togethers are always huge.”
Clive also released a new memoir in September, called Everything Is Everything: A Memoir of Love, Hate & Hope.
