Bretman Rock Opens Up About Being Disappointed in the Beauty Community & Why He Left

Bretman Rock is speaking out about the beauty community in a new interview.

The 24-year-old social media star and “You’re That B-tch: & Other Cute Lessons About Being Unapologetically Yourself” author used to be a prominent figure in the YouTube beauty community, but had to step away amid so much drama.

Now, Bretman is revealing what made him leave the beauty community and shared his thoughts on the disappointment from others in the community.

See what he said inside…

“When I first started in the beauty industry, I fell in love with the creators and it made me wanna do what I wanted to do, which was literally just share makeup and share my confidence with the world,” Bretman told them. “Share people how to grow their eyebrows back share people how to contour, share to people my new favorite foundation, and I don’t know why it got lost in translation when, you know, non-colored individuals were coming in and it just became a money industry and like it just became an ick to me. Like ugh, when did beauty become so ugly? That part. And so yeah, I was like it’s no longer a beauty industry, beauty community. And I used the word community very loosely, like my whole.”

“B-tch it was like, ugh, how are y’all do not even know how to apologize? It’s as simple as addressing what you did, saying sorry, and never doing it again. But you b-tches are gonna cry, make up excuses, not say sorry and still do the sh-t you say. The beauty industry became the sorry industry,” he said.

Bretman also opened up about social media fame at a young age, his first Morphe collab and more.
