Sally Phillips recalls ‘fight scene’ in Bridget Jones
Sally Phillips, who played best friend Shazza in all three of the Bridget Jones movies, has a new love after her husband of 14 years allegedly left her for a yoga teacher.
The 53-year-old star revealed that she is now in a happy new relationship after being introduced to her partner Ian by a friend.
“My husband left me for a member of the Russian Yoga Federation, though I’m not legally allowed to say that anymore, but he won’t listen to this,” she told Loose Women star Kaye Adams in a chat during the stage version of her podcast How To Be 60 Live!
“Fortunately, my friend introduced me to Ian, and I’ve been with Ian for four years now. And he’s to die for.
“And actually, to be honest, when he kissed me, this is true. I’m going to overshare because comedians do that,” she said.

“But when he kissed me, I did think of that line, you need to be kissed a lot by someone who knows how. So, I’ve met someone who knows how to kiss.
“I am very, very happy with him. And I feel very lucky to have had a second chance,” she told Kaye and co-host Karen MacKenzie.
“But there’s always that pain, isn’t there for the kids? Because my kids were quite young when it happened. And I guess I would never have left.
“But now he’s taken all the guilt from me and done it for me. I’m quite pleased.”
Sally and ex-husband Andrew were married in 2003 and share three sons Oliver, Tom and Luke.

She met her new man Ian two years after the marriage ended in 2017.
In 2021, she appeared on TBN’s chat show Soul Tears and discussed how the divide in her marriage started after the birth of eldest son Olly, who has Down’s syndrome and was compounded by two miscarriages.
“We’d had a divide that started after Olly in that my husband and I dealt with the diagnosis in very different ways.
“And then this division over babies got wider, because he hadn’t really taken on board that I was pregnant,” she intimated.
